July is the hottest month xi.xix
Hot July,
You make me crazy,
break me down & crack me open
I cut my hair-
rather than keep trying to tie it up, and you’re pushing out my bad habits one by one
Appreciating lazy days, and lazy moments
The wetness of the air, an oppressive cloak of humidity
Sunshine cooking sweat on tanned shoulders
The sweetness, the shock- jumping into cool blue water & the juiciness of watermelon lunch
The windows open at night
Darkness and the breeze carrying thunderstorms through our dreams
Lightning peeks through the diaphanous blanket of eyelashes
Our baby sleeps
All things good and all things family
The smell of sunscreen & the warmth of sun kissed skin
Off too soon like wet swimsuits
This season of us
